Best Practices
Targeting the Right People at your Exhibition or Trade Show
More than likely the Trade Show Organizer has done an effective job attracting a substantial amount of qualified attendees to the event your company will be exhibiting at. However, in addition to those pre-show efforts there is more to be accomplished. Find out where your bigger competitors have positioned themselves on the floor (and decide where you would like to be in relation to them), engage in social media efforts to connect before the live show and make sure your sales people are up to date on their training, pitches and marketing materials.

Trade Show Design Tips
By Juliette Schmerler
President, Spectramedia
A well designed booth stands out from the rest. Keeping this concept in mind you should remember attendees are viewing your booth from a distance so using large-scale graphics and concise, minimal text makes sense. Viewers need to understand your messaging within seconds, and be captivated enough to want to stop. Understanding your space is also essential.

Success Story from Branders
By: Celine Benjamin
It is just a stuffed animal right? Wrong, the Illinois based company; K-Patents utilized this cute bear at one of their trade shows much to their business benefit. The company, which manufactures measuring instruments for liquid chemicals, wanted to emphasize the importance of always getting the right blend of chemicals. Its tagline, “Rest easy with K-Patents,” fit the teddy bear to a tee. It was a success and enhanced consumer trust in their company.

Hand Sanitizers Rival Pens as the Most Popular Promotional Product and Trade Show Giveaway
Blame it on the swine flu but according to “The Advertising Specialty Institute” hand sanitizers are now one of the most popular logoed items that companies are giving away to clients and employees. Searches of the key words “hand sanitizers” by promotional products distributors via the Advertising Specialty Institute’s promotional products database jumped 439% for the period between October 2009 and October 2008. Only searches for pens - which for years have been the best-selling logoed product in the promotional products industry - were higher that period. In addition, searches for sanitizer products of all kinds jumped by triple digits this year.
