The Grand Opening Ceremony for Chicago's McCormick Place West building featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the building for the 500 in attendance, including Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. Cirque Shanghai, a world-renowned Chinese acrobatic troupe, also performed. The $882 million facility offers 470,000 square feet of exhibition space and 250,000 square feet of meeting space in 61 rooms. The 2007 TS˛ Conference and Exposition - THE Industry Event for Exhibit and Event Professionals, held its 3rd Annual TS˛ Block Party at the National Music Center and Museum Foundation located across the street from the show venue - the Washington DC Convention Center. The networking party for party planners featured a Latin Quarter complete with moving lights, vertical buffets of Latin Cuisine and a Latin Jazz band; a Dance Studio with a disco ball and a DJ; a Martini Bar and Vintage Piano Lounge; and an Asian Club with conveyor belts of sushi; and a Candy Land of desserts.
