Tarsus Group plc, the international business-to-business media group with interests in exhibitions, conferences, publishing and online media, announced the acquisition of DMS Group LLC which owns and operates the US-based website www.CVBHotRates.com and the purchase of UK-based, Internetworks Limited which runs www.exhibitions.co.uk. These two acquisitions are in line with the Group's strategy to strengthen its online business in the events industry internationally.
The CVBHotRates website is a leading brand in the rapidly-growing global meetings and events industry and was founded in 2004. The portal is expanding rapidly attracting over 20,000 unique visitors each month. It provides a unique and fast service for event planners to find and book venues. The website has a large network with over 40 Convention and Visitor Bureau partners and 2,500 hotels listed on the site. Donovan Shia, the founder of CVBHotRates.com, will continue to work with Tarsus to develop the business

Business Journals, Inc, parent company of MR Magazine and MRketplace.com, announced today that it has purchased certain assets of The Exclusive trade show. The deal will be effective after the upcoming run of the Exclusive, August 26-28 at the Venetian, which will be its last. A new trade show, to be called MRket, will be launched by the company and will debut in the main exhibition space of The Venetian Hotel February 11-13, 2008. MRket will build on the extensive goodwill and customer loyalty to the Exclusive by creating a new, exciting and vibrant show experience and, at the same time, upgrading and expanding the services provided to both exhibitors and attendees.
Two new enhancements at the recent ASD/AMD Trade Show included a partnership with non-profit Goodwill Industries in which exhibitors could donate unused products from the show for reuse to the benefit of individuals served by that organization; and a new China Brand Show exhibit area featuring - for the first time in the U.S. - products made from China's top 100 brands for wholesalers and distributors.
